A luncheon meeting, with one hour of CE, is generally held on the third Wednesday of each month except during tax season. The lunch meetings begin at noon and are held at various locations. Topic: Section 199A and Rental Properties. This advanced course will look at Section 199A of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the related regulations, and the implications for rental properties. An overview of Section 162 and relevant court cases will also be discussed. Prerequisites: good understanding of Section 199A and of rental property treatment in US Taxation
Speaker: L. Knox Wimberly is an Enrolled Agent. He earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service passing a three-part comprehensive IRS test covering individual and business tax returns. Enrolled agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards. Knox is considered one of America’s Tax Experts having taught practitioners all over the country. His areas of expertise include the taxation of clergy, cryptocurrency, foreign earned income, estates (especially on the 1041 fiduciary return), S corporations, and trusts. His practice also includes tax resolution and he is a Fellow of the National Tax Practice Institute. Knox currently serves as the Tax Director for HappyTax, cryptotaxprep.com, and cryptotaxacademy.com.

Receiving CE credit for attending VASEA chapter meetings is a benefit of VASEA membership. All active members and associates in good standing are eligible to receive IRS CE credit through the VASEA office for chapter meetings at no charge.
