Our one hour CE luncheon meetings are generally held on the third Wednesday of each month except during tax season. The lunch meetings begin at noon and are held at various locations. Topic: IRS CDPs, Collection Appeals, and Taxpayer Advocate
This course will cover when, why and how to file Collection Due Process Hearing Requests (Form 12153), The Collection Appeals Request (Form 9423), and Requests for Taxpayer Advocate Service help (Form 911). We will discuss the importance of filing these forms on behalf of your client, what to include on these requests, and what to expect from the IRS for these hearings, or their responses. This course will help identify the differences between each of these requests, the appropriate times to use each of them, and how they can help your client’s situation with the IRS.

Speaker: Jennifer Cable, EA
Jennifer Cable is an Enrolled Agent and NTPI Fellow. She completed a Bachelor’s Degree at Virginia Tech in Political Science, as well as a Master’s Degree at Radford University in Criminal Justice. She has worked with Wall & Associates, Inc. for over 19 years, a company which provides Administrative Tax Representation Services to taxpayers across the United States. Over time, Jennifer has worked on client cases and served in various managerial roles. She received her Enrolled Agent License in 2009, and has been the Chief Operating Officer of Wall & Associates, Inc. since 2013. Her current job duties consist of handling day to day operations of the company including hiring of new talent, administering policies and procedures for casework staff, advising on upper level IRS and State tax matters and cases, conducting training for staff on IRS and State tax matters, as well as overseeing the IT needs of the company. Jennifer has also served as a Director with VASEA since October 2019. Outside of the tax representation world Jennifer enjoys creating and playing music, live music concerts, all Virginia Tech sporting events, spending time with family, reading, movies, and her cats.

Receiving CE credit for attending VASEA chapter meetings is a benefit of VASEA membership. All active members and associates in good standing are eligible to receive IRS CE credit through the VASEA office for chapter meetings at no charge.
