Mission

The Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents is committed to inspiring, developing, supporting, and empowering those striving for excellence in the tax profession.

Purpose

The purposes of the Society include:

  • To provide an organized professional development program for Enrolled Agents;
  • To develop a statewide organization of members as the basis of an effective state and national organization;
  • To represent the interests of the Virginia Society Members as part of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA);
  • To represent Enrolled Agents on the state level with all governmental agencies;
  • To promote and protect the interests of Enrolled Agents; and,
  • To exercise all rights and powers conferred on non-profit corporations under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Who is eligible for membership?

Member

Membership in the Society is limited to those persons recognized by the United States Treasury Department as Enrolled Agents in good standing.  An individual must be a Member in good standing of the National Association of Enrolled Agents to be a Member of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents. 

Virginia enrolled agents may join VASEA by selecting Virginia as their state affiliate on their NAEA membership application.

Associate

Any individual not eligible for membership as an Enrolled Agent may be eligible for Associate membership, with no voting privileges.  Associates must abide by NAEA’s Code of Ethics and CPE requirements.  Any Enrolled Agent or other individual who has been removed from practice under the provisions of Circular 230 will not qualify for Associate status.
